Frequently asked questions
What is play therapy?
Play therapy is to children what counseling is to adults. Play therapy utilizes play, children's natural medium of expression, to help them express their feelings more easily through toys instead of words. The goal is for children learn to express themselves in healthier ways through increased self-regulation, to have a safe space to problem solve while communicating through play.
What ages of children do you see?
I work with children ages 2-10, tween 11-12, teens 13-17, and young adults ages 18-24. I also work with families in conjunction with their child’s therapy.
Do you take insurance?
I am currently taking Aetna, OPTUM United Behavioral Health and Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Depending on your health insurance provider/plan, it is possible for your therapy services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify if and how your plan compensates you for therapy services.
